Last updated: 16 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how BizWebMart (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use bizwebmart.com. It is written with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 in mind. [Legal review] Please have this policy reviewed by a qualified lawyer before relying on it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored in encrypted form) when you register as a customer or business owner.
- Business listing information: business name, category, address, phone numbers, email, website, hours, services, products, photos, logo, GSTIN and other details submitted by business owners, our team or collected from publicly available sources.
- Enquiries and messages: the name, phone number, email, requirement and message you enter when you send an enquiry to a business or contact us.
- Reviews, reports and claims: content you submit, such as reviews, reports of incorrect information, removal requests and ownership claims.
- Usage information: pages visited, searches, clicks on call, WhatsApp or website buttons, device and browser type, and an anonymised (hashed) form of your IP address used for security and spam prevention.
- Payment information: if you buy a paid package, payments are processed by our payment gateway partner. We receive a payment reference and status; we do not store your full card or bank details.
2. Why we use information
- to create and manage your account and log you in securely;
- to publish and display business listings and to verify listing details;
- to deliver your enquiry to the business you chose and to show you your enquiry history;
- to send transactional emails about registration, listing submission, approval or rejection, enquiries, claims and account activity;
- to process payments, renewals and package upgrades;
- to prevent spam, fraud and misuse, and to keep the website secure;
- to understand how the website is used and to improve it;
- to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
3. Public business information
Business listing information is meant to be public. Details such as the business name, address, phone number, website, photos, services, hours and approved reviews are shown on the website and may be indexed by search engines. Your private account information – your password, your personal email and phone number used for login, and your enquiry history – is not shown publicly.
4. When we share information
- With the business you contact: when you send an enquiry, the details you enter are shared with that business so that it can respond to you.
- With service providers: hosting, email delivery, analytics and payment gateway providers who process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and BizWebMart.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, protect forms against misuse (CSRF tokens and CAPTCHA sessions) and remember your preferences. If analytics tools are enabled, they may use cookies to measure visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features, such as logging in, may stop working.
6. Data retention
We keep account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and dispute-resolution needs. Enquiries are kept so that businesses and users can see their history; you can ask us to delete them. Business listings remain published until they are removed by the owner, by us, or following a valid removal request.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS, encrypted passwords, access controls for staff and checks on uploaded files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access and update your account details from your profile. Subject to applicable law, you may also ask us to correct, update or delete your personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or ask questions about how we use your information. To make a request, write to contact@bizwebmart.com from the email address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Emails we send
We send transactional emails that are necessary for the service – for example registration confirmation, listing submission, approval or rejection, enquiry notifications and account or security messages. Listing-related messages are sent from or on behalf of listing@bizwebmart.com. If we send promotional emails, you can unsubscribe at any time.
